Kellstrom
takes a Swing

Heather
Kellstrom carded 2 eagles and 7 birdies
on her way to an 8 under par 64 and a
two shot victory over Frank Caruana who
had 1 eagle and 9 birdies. Bob White
took 3rd at 67 and Erik Meland was 4th
with a 71. Kellstrom had 13 putts
on the front nine to open in 31 and take
charge. Bob White had a 32 on the back
nine but couldn't catch Kellstrom.
Gmitter Wins Playoff and
the Cup
May 12, 2001 Hickory Creek
John Gmitter birdied the
final hole to tie Bob White at 2 under
par 70, then took the win in an epic 9
hole playoff with a final 1
putt. Sue Meland took 3rd at 2
over par 74 and Chris Drake took 4th
at 3 over par 75. Erik Meland had 26
putts for the day. David Martin
earned the Skins Game invitation.
Gregg Stays out of the Pines
May 5, 2001 at Pine View GC
Steve Gregg shot at 2 under
par 70 to top Chris Drake by 1 shot at
Pine View. David Martin took 3rd with
a 3 over par 75 and Bob White tied
Mary Petree for 4th at 5 over par 77.
Erik Meland tied Gregg and Drake for
low putts at 31. Gregg had 7 birdies
and an eagle in his round. Drake had 7
birdies and Petree had 2 eagles in her
round. Gregg's eagle-birdie start to
teh back nine got him the edge he
needed to hold on for the win.
