MacBeth Playoff Winner in the Zoo
June 7, 2003 at Taylor Meadows

Craig MacBeth tied Dan Swartz for the regulation lead at 7 under par 65 at the Animal House. MacBeth then came from behind in the 4 hole playoff to take the title. Down after the first playoff hole, he came back to take the lead on the third and par out to win. Jim Shank took third at 5 under par 67 and Jeff Kellstrom took 4th at 4 under par 68.  MacBeth hit a record tying 15 greens on the day.  Jeff Klipa had the low zoo ratio with a microscopic .072. Kim Buchhauser was next low at .167, then Kerry Homberger at .1714 and Norma Downie made the playoff at .203.


Kline Best Western Swinger

May 31, 2003 at Huron Meadows Metropark

It was a good day for the ladies at the Western Swing, but Greg Kline took home the trophy. Kline bested the field with a 7 under par 65. Norma Downie was second a with a 4 under par 68. Dorene Lund took third at 1 under par 71 with Gary Rose and Erik Meland tying for fourth at 1 over par 73. Kline strung together 6 birdies on the first 6 holes to take charge early and then held serve with 2 birdies against 1 bogey the rest of the way. Downie and Lund both posted 7 birdies and an eagle on their day. Notable: Jeff Kellstrom opened his round with an eagle on the 1st hole.  This is 2nd year man Greg Kline's 1st win on Tour.


Martin Gets No Help in Memorial Playoff
May 27, 2003 at Willow Metropark GC

David Martin and Frank Caruana posted a 2 under par 69 at the Memorial team event. 45 minutes later the defending champs Jim Cwikla and Chris Drake tied them. Unfortunately Caruana had left the course leaving Martin to fend for himself in the playoff!  But Martin was up to the challenge with a birdie on the first playoff hole. Cwikla and Drake could manage only pars for all four playoff holes while Martin also parred out to take the playoff.  Rick Persichetti and G. Rose tied Erik and Sue Meland for 3rd at Even Par. This is Martin and Caruana's 2nd Memorial title as a team.


Lamarand Shoots 64 at Hickory Creek
May 10, 2003 at Hickory Creek GC

Mike Lamarand made 9 birdies and an eagle to cruise to a 4 shot win at the Tin Cup. His 8 under Par 64 topped David Martin's runner up 68.  Jeff Kellstrom and Jim Cwikla tied for 3rd at 2 over par 74.  Jim Shank and Chris Drake tied for low putts at 29, with needing only 12 on the back nine. Dorene Lund hit 10 fairways to lead the day with Russ Holland getting 9. Kim Buchhauser hit 7 greens in regulation. Kellstrom bagged an Albatross on #18 while Rick Persichetti and Kerry Homberger each had 2 eagles.  This is Lamarand's 1st Tour victory. 


Shank takes the Pine View in a Playoff
May 3, 2003 at Pine View GC

Jim Shank took the playoff over Mike 'Doc' Daksiewicz to win at Pine View. Both finished regulation at 4 over par 76. Chris Drake took 3rd at 6 over 78 and Ian Steward took 4th at 7 over par 79. Victor McCoy and Craig MacBeth led the field with 30 putts.  Daksiewicz had 4 birdies in his round.
