of golf with cart, 2-nights lodging, Breakfast
and Range.
The Commissioner's Cup debuted
in 2005 as the Mulligan Tour's version of
the "Ryder Cup". The first 6 years had
the Tour's Central Division playing against
the Western Division. In 2011,
we changed to a team of 8 players
representing the defending champion's
division have competed against a team of 8
from one of the other regional divisions
that did not participate in the previous
year.
In 2020 we expanded to 10 players per
side. There will be 30 matches over 3 days
and 54 holes of competition. On Friday
afternoon players are partnered and play a
9-hole fourball (best ball) match and a
9-hole foursomes (alternate shot)
match. Saturday morning continues with
more team matches - 9-hole foursomes
followed by 9-hole fourball. Then,
Sunday the competition concludes with 10
singles matches.
There are 30 points available. The
team winning more of the points, wins the
Commissioner's Cup. If the teams tie
with 15 points each, then the the
defending champions retain the Cup.
Greg Kline, commissioner of the Central
Division, will be joined by the top-7 on
the Central Division's Money Standings
after the Central Division
Championship. In the event that Greg
Kline himself is in the top-7, then the
8th ranked player will be invited.
If any players decline to play, then
invitations will be extended down thru the
top- 15 players on the Central Money List
until the first 8 players are
secured. If the first 8 are still
not secured, then Commissioner Kline will
make "Captain's picks" until the first 8
players are secured. The final
two players will be Captain's picks and
can come from the top 30 finishers on the
overall money list or the top 20 of any
division money list.
Tyler Floyd, commissioner of the
defending West Division, will be joined by
the top-7 on the West division's Money
Standings after the West Division
Championship. In the event that
Floyd himself is in the top-7, then the
8th ranked player will be invited.
If any players decline to play, then
invitations will be extended down thru the
top-15 players on the West Money
List. If the first 8 are still not
secured, then Commissioner Floyd will make
"Captain's picks" until the first 8
players are secured. The final two
players will be Captain's picks and can
come from the top 30 finishers on the
overall money list or the top 20 of any
division money list.
Note: Players qualifying for both teams
may choose to play for either the West or
the Central.
