| The Go Blue Classic debuted in 2005 as a western division
tournament. The 18-hole, individual, stroke-play, net score
tournament has a Maize and Blue feel with several on-course
challenges for U of M door prizes. The 2012 event
returns to Lake Forest GC, site of the 2006 GBC.
Additionally,
If
Michigan beats Ohio State in the previous year’s football game,
players get a “4th and inches” tap-in (If player
can touch thumb to ball and pinky to cup (of
the same hand), the ball can be
considered holed). This did happen (Nov.26, 2011: UM
40 - OSU 34)
If
Michigan beats Michigan State in the previous year's football
game, players get an additional "mulligan" to be used on
any tee. This did NOT happen (Oct. 15, 2011: MSU
28 - UM 14)
