And now for something completely
different...
The Holy Grail is a
Western Division tournament
normally played annually at St.
John's Golf and Conference Center
in Plymouth. This year, due to
ongoing renovations at St.
John's, we are moving to the
Washtenaw Golf Club in Ypsilanti.
The Monty Python influenced
tournament offers players the
chance to use 3 "Holy Hand
Grenades". These allow a player to
throw the ball from anywhere to
get out of trouble for free - a
mulligan tour exclusive! And a
perfect remedy for the dreaded
Hunter's Ridge heather.
At any time
during the round, the player may
pick up his/her ball and throw
it in any direction without
counting a stroke.
The player must stand on
the spot where the ball was
laying and may take a 1-step
delivery.
The ball is “in play”
wherever the ball comes to rest.
A maximum of 1 Holy Hand
Grenade may be used on any given
hole.
Since Holy Hand
Grenades blow scores into little
pieces, we add 3 strokes to the
scores of each player after the
event for MTHI calculation
purposes.
