The Red Oaks Shootout
debuted in 2013 at Red Oaks Golf
Course in Madison Heights. The
top-4 net-scores, and ties, from the
individual 9-holes played at
stroke-play, are invited to a 5-hole
"Shootout" on the practice
green. Players making a 1-putt
are awarded 5 points. A
2-putt gains the player 3 points, a
3-putt gets 2 points and a 4-putt
gets 1 point. Most
points wins the
tournament. If 2 or more
players are tied, the putt-off will
continue in sudden-death format.
Handicap strokes for the 9 hole
play are 1/3 of a player's MTHI
(and rounded off).
There is no update to a player's
MTHI from this tournament.
