Qualifier for the East Division Skins Game
| The Sparty Classic debuts in 2010 as an Eastern division
tournament. The 18-hole, individual, stroke-play, net
score tournament has a Michigan State feel with several
on-course challenges for sparty door prizes.
Additionally,
If
the Michigan State Spartans basketball team make the Final 4
in the 2010 NCAA tournament, all players get a "basket
and the foul" - After the player has 2 1-putt holes
(or less considering chip-ins), the player earns a "get
out of jail free" card (no penalty stroke once where
applicable). This did happen (Mar. 28, 2010 MSU
70 - Tenn 69)
If
Michigan State beats Michigan in the previous year's football
game, all players get an additional "mulligan" to be
used on any hole. This did happen (Oct.3, 2009: MSU
26 - UM 20)
